The Africa security conference that moves with the region
SASCON is the Sub-Saharan Africa Security Conference, the ASIS International regional conference for Sub-Sahara Africa. In 2027 it comes to West Africa: Accra, Ghana, on20 to 21 July 2027.
What SASCON is
SASCON convenes the people who carry security risk in Sub-Saharan Africa: chief security officers, heads of security and safety, risk and resilience leads, law enforcement and defence, and the consultants and integrators who serve them. It is organised under ASIS International, the global association for security management professionals, and hosted by a different ASIS chapter each year.
That rotation is the point. The conference does not sit in one capital; it moves with the region, and each edition is recorded in a permanent archive rather than disappearing with its host: Abuja in 2023, Nairobi in 2024, Lagos in 2025, Cape Town in 2026 and Accra in 2027.
Why practitioners choose it
Case-study clinics are restricted to in-house practitioners, which keeps vendors off the main stage and keeps the content honest. Sessions are proposed through an opencall for content, in English or French, and speakers present under published terms rather than private arrangements.
Numbers on this site come with sources. Attendance figures, session counts and credit values are published only when verified, and each edition's archive page lists openly what could not be evidenced. For a security audience, that candour is the credential.
